Rev. Scott Malme - Senior Pastor
Greetings! Thanks for visiting Pilgrim Lutheran Church and School. My name is Scott Malme, and I serve as the Senior Pastor here at Pilgrim. I am originally from Minnesota, graduating from Concordia College, St. Paul in 1987. I studied for the ministry at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, receiving an M. Div. degree in 1991. I formerly served St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rockford, IL, and have been serving Pilgrim since September, 2001. We at Pilgrim look forward to God's desire for and exciting and growing ministry in the future and invite you to be a part of what God is doing here in any way possible. Rev. Dr. Michael Hanson - Associate Pastor
Greetings! I am the Associate Pastor at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, as of August 2017. My wife is Kristen, and our two kids are Kathryn and Nathan. Prior to serving here, I served at Trinity Lutheran Ministries in Jackson, MI where in addition to regular pastoring, I had the opportunity to plant a church, and revitalize another congregation in our circuit. I was born in Appleton, and raised mostly in Wisconsin Rapids. I studied at Concordia University Wisconsin from 2002-06, then at Concordia Seminary from 2006-10. While at the Seminary, I was able to serve as President of our Student Association. I returned to Seminary in 2013 to begin working on a PhD, which I finished in May 2021. I am a football enthusiast, I played a few years at CUW, and am a Packers and Badgers fan. Other hobbies include cars and fishing.

John Schultz - Principal
Hi! I am John E. Schultz the Principal at Pilgrim Lutheran Church and School! I am honored to serve at Pilgrim. I have been in the Lutheran ministry for 44 years. My wife Ruth and I have 3 children, JJ, Rachel, and Sarah. We have 4 grandchildren, Hayden, Bella, Emmett, and Micah.
graduating from Concordia College in St. Paul, MN with a double major which
includes an Elementary degree and a K-12 degree in Physical Education, my wife
Ruth and I received calls to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School in
Janesville, WI. We served there for 17 years. I earned my Master’s
in Education and Professional Development from the University of Wisconsin at
Whitewater, WI. I got a call to serve as principal and teacher at St.
John’s Lutheran Church and School in Adrian, MI. We served there for 3
years when the Lord called us to serve as principal and teacher at Evansville
Lutheran School in Evansville, IN. I earned my second Masters in
Educational Administration from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2005.
We served in Evansville for 9 years. We then were called to Trinity
Lutheran Church and School in Crown Point, IN. We served there for 9 years.
At Pilgrim we are striving for academic excellence, living under grace,
forgiving one another, and trusting God.
Rebekah Spaulding - Youth/Family Ministry Director
Hello! I am Rebekah, the Youth and Family Life Director at Pilgrim. I grew up in Idaho with my brother (Luke), twin sister (Rachel) and younger sister(Hannah), and my wonderful parents! I have had many other homes in my life, but nothing compares to the home I am looking forward too with Jesus. I desire everyone to know that they are radically loved by God. My hobbies include hiking, kayaking, photography, painting, traveling, being with family & friends, and playing games. I attended Concordia University in Wisconsin, where I studied Ministry and Architectural Design. I previously served at a congregation in Minnesota, Luther University in Seoul, South Korea, a refugee Congolese congregation in Milwaukee, and at Camp Perkins in Idaho for 4 summers (Pastor Malme also served there!). I am currently so thankful to encounter so many people, families and youth in Green Bay by serving as the Director of Youth & Family Ministries at Pilgrim Lutheran Church & School. Aaron Schroeder - Technology Director
Aaron came from behind scenes as our “off-hours IT person” to onsite IT Director. He answers the call when we need help with computers, phones, printer, you name it and he fixes it. His expertise in computers has aided us in updating to the modern technology needed for our staff and students. In addition, he is also a fantastic organist who regularly plays at Pilgrim on the weekends. Aaron also loves diesel trucks, Kwik Trip, and Mountain Dew.
Dawn Kirchner - School Administrative Assistant
My name is Dawn Kirchner. I was born and raised on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin, near Stevens Point. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a B.S. in Management and Silver Lake College with a M.S. in Management and Organizational Behavior. After being in the corporate world for the past 20 years in various HR, Wellness, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, and Management capacities, I decided to look for something that was more suitable for my children and family. When Pilgrim Lutheran School reached out to me related to the Administrative Assistant position, I felt very honored and blessed to be a part of such a wonderful Christian environment. In addition, I enjoy sports, camping, physical fitness, and being outdoors. God Bless Your Day!
Jeremy (JJ) Schultz - 8th Grade/Athletic Director
My name is JJ Schultz. I have been teaching since 2005. I attended Concordia University Mequon in Wisconsin to get my undergraduate degree. I have a double major in Elementary Ed. as well as Physical Ed. That is also where I met my wife Andrea Schultz. We have four children: Hayden, Isabella, Emmett, and Micah.
My first teaching call, my wife and I took together to Immanuel Lutheran School in Bay City Michigan. Then my wife and I both accepted a teaching call to New Hope Christian School in Neenah, WI. I really enjoy playing city league sports such as volleyball, basketball, and softball. I love spending time with my family watching movies, having worship together, and playing tons of different board games. I am so very excited to start yet another year of ministry in teaching children various skills such as hard work, organization, and resiliency. Over everything else I am excited to bring God to these kids. He is such a wonderful Creator and Savior and I am so very blessed to have the opportunity to teach, coach, and get to know these wonderful young children. Mike Schumm - 7th
My name is Michael Schumm. I was born and raised outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before moving to Wisconsin to go to college. I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a degree in Secondary Education-History and a minor in Theology. That is where I met my amazing wife, Kelly, who I am blessed to be able to work with again. I have also served at Topeka Lutheran in Topeka, Kansas and at St. James Lutheran in Shawano, Wisconsin prior to accepting the call to Pilgrim Lutheran School.
Kelly Schumm - 6th Grade
My name is Kelly Schumm. I attended Concordia University of Wisconsin in Mequon and received a degree in Elementary Education in 2010. I married my husband, Michael Schumm, in June of 2011 here in Green Bay. We are blessed with two children, Reagan and Zoe. I love teaching at Pilgrim where the atmosphere is welcoming and Christ-centered. The faculty and staff are a joy to work with, and I love teaching the Word of God to his little lambs.
Hansen - 5th Grade/Assistant Principal
Hi! My name is Lynnette Hansen. I am the 5th Grade Homeroom teacher, 5-8 grade Reading teacher, Librarian, and Assistant Principal. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with minors in Language Arts and Mathematics from Concordia University - WI in 2006. Before coming to Pilgrim, I taught at Immanuel Lutheran in Wisconsin Rapids for 11 years. In 2009-2011, I completed my Master’s Degree in Technology Education from Concordia University - WI. I married Quinn in 2007, and we have two children, Trisha and Lucas. I love teaching and showing the Love of Jesus to my students on a daily basis and watching them grow and mature. Besides teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, watching movies, coaching track, and playing Ultimate Frisbee (not to be confused with Disc Golf).
Lisa Dhein - Science, Math, and Reading Teacher
I am so excited to be a part of the Pilgrim Lutheran School staff! I received my teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education and minor in Science. I worked at Pulaski Community Middle School teaching math, science, reading and language arts until I chose to be a stay at home mother to my three children. In 2014, I joined the teaching staff here at Pilgrim where I was once again able to teach amazing kids each and every day! Currently, I teach 5th-8th grade science and 7th and 8th grade math. In addition to teaching, I coach volleyball and help coordinate Glory Girls. It is such a blessing to be a part of a school where we can share Jesus' love with the students each and every day.
Lisa Medenwald - 4th Grade
I received my teaching education from Concordia University - Mequon, Wisconsin, with concentrations in Broad Area Science and Business, and obtained additional teaching Certifications. In addition, I majored in Psychology and Social Work at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and earned an M.B.A. I am the Departmentalized Science teacher (grades 5 - 8), K-6 Computer teacher, and work with the primary grades small Reading groups. God has truly blessed me through the opportunity to teach all of the K-8 students at Pilgrim Lutheran School.
Patti Giovanetti - 3rd
My name is Patti Giovanetti. I attended Concordia-Mequon and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. I have a double major: Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Human Development. I have been teaching at Pilgrim since the 1992-93 school year. I am married to Tony and our children are A.J., Hannah, and Vinnie.
Andrea Berg - 3rd and 4th Grade Aide

After graduating from Concordia College Wisconsin in 1988, my first call was to Emmaus Lutheran School in Indianapolis where I taught 2nd Grade for 7 years. When I moved back to the area, I was blessed to spend several years at home raising my family. In 2003, I was able to step back into teaching here at Pilgrim and have enjoyed it ever since. Having to take some time off of teaching while dealing with cancer in 2011, God reassured me that I am doing exactly what He wants me to do, sharing the Good News of Jesus while teaching His little lambs. I am proud to be a part of this wonderful Pilgrim family.

Hi, my name is Kari Williams. I graduated from Concordia University-River Forest in 2004 with a bachelors degree in elementary education. I also have my reading license from Viterbo University. I was married in 2005 to my husband Mark and we have 3 boys: Graham, Logan, and Dawson. Prior to teaching at Pilgrim I taught 1st grade for 13 years at St. Paul Lutheran in Bonduel. I enjoy being outside, spending time with my family, gardening, running and reading. I am always trying to come up with new, fun ways to teach in the classroom. Each year is a new adventure and I am blessed to be sharing the love of Jesus with each of my students.

Hi there! My name is Kayla Ziesmer. I am very blessed to hold the title of Pilgrim's Kindergarten teacher this year. In 2013, I graduated from St. Norbert College with a degree in Elementary Education and minors in Early Childhood and Spanish. While studying there, I was fortunate to have met my husband, Patrick. Previously, I taught 4K and 2nd grade Dual Language in Racine, as well as 1st and 3rd grade bilingual in Green Bay. This will be my 8th year teaching and I am looking forward to being able to share God's Word with my students. We are going to have an amazing year learning and growing together in Christ!

I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2021 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor is Psychology. I am thankful for the opportunity to begin my teaching journey here at Pilgrim and am excited to grow with you in Christ!

Hi! My name is Amy Van De Yacht and I am the Kindergarten teacher aide at Pilgrim. I truly look forward to coming to work every day, knowing that God has placed me here to help guide and direct His little ones.
Christine Malme - 4-Kindergarten
My name is Christine Malme and I am blessed to be a part of the Pilgrim School staff. I graduated from Concordia University in Chicago with degrees in Elementary Education and a Masters in Church Music. I have served as Pilgrim’s 4K teacher since 2009. Before moving to Green Bay, I taught at St. Andrew in Park Ridge, IL, Zion Lutheran in Harvester, MO, and at St. Paul in Rockford, IL. On Sunday mornings you’ll find me in the choir loft leading the praise team. I am married to Pastor Malme and we have three grown children and a granddaughter. The best part of my job is sharing Jesus’ love with the cherubs in my classroom.

Diana Stockfisch - Preschool
Hello! My name is Diana Stockfisch. I am excited to be here! I am the Preschool Director and Teacher. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 2003. I taught 2 years of Kindergarten in Delavan, WI before moving to the Minneapolis area with my husband Peter. I took a few years off to have my two beautiful children; Summer & Evan. I went back to teaching in 2013. I taught 3 years of Preschool then 2 years of First grade before moving to Missouri. While in Missouri I taught 2 years of Preschool before coming to Green Bay in May. I am currently working towards my Masters Degree in Special Education which I will complete this coming May. My goal is to nurture each child and help your child grow in mind, body and spirit. I strive to provide a fun and engaging preschool experience for each student and help them develop a love of learning. I am looking forward to partnering with you this year to help your child grow socially, academically, and spiritually.
Stephanie Zinkel - Preschool Aide and Music
Stephanie Zinkel is the school music teacher and choir director as well as the preschool aide. She teaches music appreciation to Kindergarten - grade 6, directs three school choirs that sing in church and chapel, and leads musicals each year. In preschool, she works with the students one to one and in small groups. She enjoys working with the students in a variety of subjects and with a wide range of age groups.

I have been a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church since 2013 and joined the staff as Children's Ministry Coordinator in 2017. I have been a volunteer for VBS and am a Sunday School teacher at the Suamico site. My husband Craig and I have 4 children.
Karen Duquette - Church Secretary
Hi. I started out at Pilgrim as a member and then was recruited as a volunteer to join the team that counts the weekly contributions. From there I was hired as one of the church secretaries when the need arose. I truly love my job here and you cannot find a better group of people to work with anywhere. I feel very blessed the Lord has led me to this Pilgrim family. I am married to Len and have four adult children and four grandchildren.
Ruth Schultz - Church Secretary
Welcome! I was born & raised in Lutheran schools in Milwaukee and like my husband, John (principal), I attended and graduated from Concordia College - St. Paul with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Ed. We have 3 grown children (in Green Bay, Knoxville, & West Bend) and 4 grandchildren here with us at Pilgrim. After 38 years of teaching ministry with my husband, I retired at the end of the 2015 school year when he accepted the call to be principal here at Pilgrim Lutheran School. The Lord has blessed me with this “new” ministry as together here at Pilgrim we have been called to “Save the Lost, Strengthen the Saved!” If there is any way I can assist you, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Noelle Stuelpner - Church Secretary
Raised in California and Kentucky, I graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S.B.A. with emphasis in Finance and from Marquette University with a M.B.A. I spent 10 years working in progressive Internal Audit and Regulatory Studies roles until, in 2006, I changed my focus to stay at home with our four daughters. My husband, Brian, and I joined Pilgrim in 2016 with our move to Green Bay. I joined Pilgrim's staff in the fall of 2021 and it has been a blessing to work with its wonderful team and congregation, and to further the church's ministry in the Green Bay community.
Barbara Hein - Compassionate Care Coordinator
Hi, I am Barbara Hein a member of Pilgrim since 2005. I am married to Mark and we have a son, Erich. I am a retired speech pathologist. I am also a Stephen Minister. I recently joined the Pilgrim staff. My duties include coordinating Evangelism visits and keeping our membership current. I contact members regularly to keep them informed and connected to Christ and our Pilgrim family.

Ed has been our bookkeeper since 1990.
Dale Rusch - Head Custodian
Dale joined us in January 2017 and he makes sure that everything is up and running smoothly.
